Meet Maggie, a sweet gal that belies her years. Maggie came into rescue
along with her three offspring (Callie, Lacey and Stretch, also up for adoption
by FLDR) after her owner died. Maggie is housetrained and has no health issues,
except for an occasional flare-up of some skin allergy that is easily
controlled. We have given her medication occasionally to help clear it up -- we
don't know what causes it but suspect it is something in our yard. It is never
severe and often goes away with a bath.
Maggie loves to be outdoors exploring in the yard and chasing geckos and the
like, but is not a barker. she is very sweet and gets along with all dogs and
people, including young children. Her foster home has a 2-yaer-old toddler, and
Maggie is comfortable around her.
Maggie does have some food aggression. She's in a home with eight other dogs
right now and she'll try to steal the others' food if she can. But this is
really not a major issue that common sense cannot solve.
Maggie walks very well on leash and would be glad to share the big bed or is OK
with staying in her own bed at night. She's just an easy, fun dog. She would
fit in almost anywhere, so we'd like to see her get quality time outdoors with
a fenced yard or daily walks.
Though she weighs 16 pounds, she looks smaller. She's just a solid gal. If
